Elise Marrero

Director UNC Charlotte Camps on Campus

Hello! My name is Elise Marrero, and I am proud to serve as the Youth Programs Manager for the School of Professional Studies and the Director of Camps on Campus at UNC Charlotte. Originally from Cincinnati, OH, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, both from The Ohio State University. Since moving to Charlotte in 2011, I’ve spent over 13 years as an educator in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, teaching Kindergarten, First Grade, and Fourth Grade. My passion for education and child development has been the driving force in my career, and I’m thrilled to bring that same energy and commitment to my role at UNC Charlotte.

Having previously served as a Camp Instructor for Camps on Campus, I’ve experienced firsthand the incredible opportunities this program offers. I’m excited to lead impactful, engaging, and memorable camp experiences for students and families while contributing to the vibrant and growing Niner community.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, watching movies, cooking, baking, solving puzzles, and spending time with friends and family. I’m a big Disney fan—Aladdin is my all-time favorite—and I share my home with my dog, Jazzy (named after Princess Jasmine!). I look forward to a summer full of adventure, learning, and connection. Go Niners!
